Welcome to MuseMount Poetry & Literature

In his book, ‘Return of Heroic Failures’, Stephen Pile tells his readers of Shizo Kanakuri who in 1966 completed an Olympic Marathon in a time of 54 years, 8 months, 6 days, 8 hours, 32 minutes and 20.3 seconds.

Mark Duxbury has fallen short of Shizo’s record, but only just, in the time it has taken for him to publish his first book. The reasons for this delay are, in his opinion, “many and various and not for this forum”. Nevertheless- and thanks in the main to encouragement from kind people who have taught him to value his work ‘Laughing at the World’ is here and available now.

If you buy the book, Mark can go to John Wykes again and plead with him to illustrate a book of short- stories written already and entitled ‘Seaside Tales’; intended to complement ‘Laughing at the World’ in the near future.
